Shakira
By Nishan
Many people have heard songs sung by a number of different Latin singers. Some of these personalities like Shakira have gone on to break the barriers of language by being able to draw Latin audiences as well as audiences from other countries to their performances and songs. While the success Shakira is enjoying in the rest of the world is relatively new her success in the Latin music scene is one which is well known.
Shakira started performing for audiences from the tender age of four. From this impromptu performance Shakira knew that she had found her vocation in life. Many years later she established herself as a singer to be reckoned with. Her first songs which were released into public were Latin songs which were well received by lovers of that musical genre. From singing songs to fans in the Latin world Shakira decided to woo other audiences with her singing talents.
Of the various songs Shakira has given the world you will find that “Whenever, Wherever” is one which definitely rocked the world. This song of hers reached record heights for a Latin singer by being placed in the number 1 slot in the US Billboard Hot 100, the UK Single Chart and the Australian ARIA chart. While singing is indeed the main claim she has on her fans, Shakira is a woman of many talents. Her talents include singing Classical Arabic, belly dancing – her own style – writing her own compositions and even producing her own records.
The various singles and albums have given us songs like “Hips Don’t Lie”, “La Tortura”, “Ojos Asi”, “Beautiful Liar” “Hay Amores” and many others. As you listen to these various melodies you will be able to see why Shakira appeals to so many people who listen to her music. Her songs are full of energy and a joy of living that it is impossible to just sit still and listen. When you hear the songs of Shakira you will want to dance along with Shakira and enjoy living life to the fullest as she does. After all “Hips Don’t Lie” do they?
