Brulé

When most of listen to music the main types of music which are drawn to are pop, rock and roll, jazz, blues or many others. There are some people who love listening to New Age music or classical music but how about contemporary Native American music. Well for those of you who love to listen to a wide range of musical styles you have probably heard the haunting melodies of the band Brulé. This group is quite popular with many people because their music incorporates the sounds of other mainstream music to produce a form of music which is soothing to the nerves while it is a delight to hear.

The various genres of music that you will hear when you listen to one of their songs are mainly contemporary Native American Music, instrumentals – used in great effect for tribal sounds, rock and pop music which incorporates the contemporary sounds that you are well used to. While you may not understand how well these sounds blend together all that you need to do is to listen to one of their songs and you will hear the upbeat notes of pop and rock mixing with the haunting strains of tribal rhythms to hear the signature style of Brulé.

The Native American vocals and the lilting notes of a flute played in a style which has not been heard of before makes you want to listen to the music to discover each note and word which is uttered. Brulé came into existence only after the founder Paul LaRoche discovered his heritage as a Lakota Native American. Once he found this fact he began to consider the various ways that his heritage and the contemporary sounds of mainstream music could be combined together. It is this idea which gave birth to Brulé. From this point on the band grew from a solo artist to a group comprising of 6 people.

Their musical fan base also grew as more people became aware of the wonderful music which Brulé was able to provide them. The first album which the group produced is a testament to this fact. We the People and the various songs that can be heard on this album allowed fans to hear how well contemporary Native American music sounds when it is carefully mixed in with rock, pop, instrumentals and lively vocals.

Here is a just a small look at the many songs that you will hear from this popular group. “Sacred Praises”, “Brave Hearts”, “Red Path”, “Firedancer”, “Spirit Horses”, “Buffalo Moon” and others.
